7 ways to break weight loss plateau

Looking smart, slim and fit is the dream of most of among us. it all needs a perfect figure and maintaining it to that level. It is rightly said “Being fit is a new fashion statement”. If you run a check in your contact list, you will find many of them are either on diet for weight loss or trying to be active. These are the ones who are thriving for shedding some extra kilos.

Here is a surprising fact that in most of the cases it becomes difficult to lose those last 5 – 7 kg from their ultimate goal. Ever wondered, what is the reason behind this stuck up or plateau in the journey of weight loss? If you are the one, don’t worry just follow the 7 simple tips and break the plateau.

Let’s get into how to bring in the change –

  • Change your chewing habit – It sounds small, but does wonder. Chewing your food properly is the key to stop overeating. By proper chewing, means chew your food till it feels sweet, this is due to start of digestion in the mouth itself.
  • Change your grain – Don’t be solely dependent on wheat only. Try different grains like jowar, bajra, ragi/ nachni, jau, chana, etc. These grains are richer in fiber with high satiety value. It will make your stomach feel full for longer time, with a lesser quantity of food intake. Using different variety of grains also enhances good bacterial variety range in your gut. 
  • Sleep and rest – Recovery is equally important for weight loss, check if you are taking a sound sleep of 6 – 8 hours. During sleep body heals itself and prepare for new challenges. So, check out your sleep quality best way to check it is how fresh you feel after waking up. Take a day off from your weekly workout routine also.
  • Check your gut health – If your bowl moment is not clear, it will reflect as addition to your weight. So, add fiber, variety of probiotics in your meal to manage good gut health.
  • Try detox water – Vegetable juices, jeera water, fenugreek water, infused detox drinks are some magical drinks, which can help you to come over the weight loss plateau. But add them only if, you really like their taste.
  • Change your workout routine – If you are stuck in a weight loss plateau you need to check your workout routine. Tweak your workout pattern as per your convenience. As body gets used to the routine, all you need is to break it and surprise your less used muscles. Plan a five-day workout plan, which includes strengthening exercises, stretching, aerobics and yoga. Keep them in rotation and change the pace, even a slight increase in your walking speed makes wonders.
  • Track step count – Stay moving. stay active through the day. simple way to increase your step count is to do small household chores by yourself. A quick small walk after 30 min of meal intake, not only helps in losing weight but also regulates blood sugar level.
