Top six snacking ideas

Are you a person who is so busy in his schedule that you forget to take your meal on time? or when you are busy in meeting deadlines you don’t even keep a track what you are eating. Suddenly you notice that your weight is increasing and there is some lethargic feeling, ever wondered why it is?

Let’s find out the ways to handle this sluggishness you are facing at work place.

In general people follow two or three meal pattern or small and frequent meals. Here in this article, I am focusing on what to eat when you feel hungry while working. So instead of grabbing some unhealthy snack try these snacking ideas. It will surely make you feel energetic this I can guarantee!!!

Here are top six snacking ideas which will keep you energized. For Sure it will not add kgs on your weighing scale.

  • Nuts and dry fruits– Make a habit of carrying few nuts and dry fruits with you while leaving for your workplace you can keep almonds, cashew, walnuts, pistachio, foxnuts (makhana) peanuts, figs, apricot, raisins these are full of micronutrients and fibre.
  • Seeds– Seeds are also fantastic source of trace minerals and fibre, very helpful in managing blood sugar level and blood pressure. Seeds of pine (chilgoza), melons, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, flex do very well and tastes yummy too. Don’t forget to dry roast them slightly to enhance their taste and nutritive values too.
  • Home-made energy bars– You can make your own energy bars at home and carry with you, simple way to make them melt jaggery add peanuts, coconut (grated or thinly sliced), roasted gram, seeds of your choice set in a tray cool it and its ready. relish it…
  • Fruits– Seasonal fruits are always good to have as small meals, so grab local seasonal fruits and welcome all the vitamins, antioxidants, nutrients and fibre in your body. Relish their freshness…
  • Sweet potato– Boiled or baked sweet potato is excellent source of dietary fibre that helps to lower cholesterol and managing diabetes and other digestion related issues. Relish it either with jaggery, chutney and dash of lemon and salt.
  • Dry snacks– You can also carry khakhra, mathri (sweet or salty), thekua (a delicacy from Bihar), bhel roasted legumes etc.

Now you have a handy list of top six snacking ideas. Make a weekly menu as per your choices and keep grabbing them when ever you feel low on energy. Just keep in mind the portion size as anything in excess is not good for health.
